We Are God’s Children

As God’s children, we are His dependents. The Bible says, “Like as a father pitieth his children, so the Lord pitieth them that fear Him.” Dependent children spend little time worrying about meals, clothing, and shelter. They assume, and they have a right to, that all will be provided by their parents. Because God is responsible for our welfare, we are told to cast all our care upon Him, for He careth for us.

Because we are dependent upon God, Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled.” God says, “I’ll take care of the burden—don’t give it a thought—leave it to me.” Dependent children are not backward about asking for favors. They would not be normal if they did not boldly make their needs known. God is keenly aware that we are dependent upon Him for life’s necessities. It was for that reason that He said, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

Let these 10 Bible verses help you cast your cares on God.

Prayer for the day

How magnificent, almighty Father, that I, dependently, can rely on You to take the burden of my heart!

Thank you for this reminder. I have been struggling lately and it gave me comfort. Would appreciate any prayers to be able to stop drinking. My life is a mess from it. Husband isn’t happy with me either. Again, I thank you.

  2. Gina says:

Dear Lord, take the burdens of my heart that are so heavy to carry. Help me to remember, even through many trials that you are still with me. In my weakness, be made strong.

This devotional really helped me today, as I have been feeling panicky about what to do in the future, re: career. I know it’s the enemy trying to steal my joy, so this devotional encouraged me. Thank you!

I trust in the Lord and I know he will give us all we need. I struggle so much just to barely make ends meet then I feel so painfully guilty that I don’t have enough left sometimes to give my 10% to honor him. I know that should come first but I am struggling. I guess I need to really trust my Lord, My God for I know he is the whole answer to my life. Please pray for me.

How amazing it is that we have a Heavenly Father who loves us more than we can even know. He cares about every detail of our life. He loves us even if we don’t love him. Continue to reach out to him in prayer and he is faithful to answer. Do not become discouraged as this will occur in his own perfect timing.
